Who is putting on this fundraiser for land?
This fundraiser is being held and run by the Directors of Endless Adventures Ontario Inc. (EAO), Doug Rene and Ian Patterson. The work involved in setting up, working out details and ensuring the delivery of items from this fundraiser are solely their responsibility. This means that no Plot Member, Cast or any other official position will be required to participate in the providing of any of the items. Any positions within EAO or Fantasy Alive may volunteer to assist with these efforts, but are in no way required to do so.
Although the implementation of fundraiser rewards is solely the responsibility of the EAO Directors, all the rewards have been developed in collaboration with the Fantasy Alive Plot Manager and have been approved by him.

Why have the fundraiser? Why not just stay at the site we’ve been using?
As of the time of writing this, Scouts Canada is still not allowing any use of their camps. We have been talking very frequently with the Head Ranger at Camp Manitou for updates and plans, and the news has not been promising. Should the site be open for rentals, it will be for Scouting groups first and there is a distinct possibility that it will simply not reopen to other groups at all.
This leaves us in a spot where we can run neither Fantasy Alive nor the upcoming Dormancy LARP. We have therefore been looking for different locations to run, but finding something that is in the same level of quality as Camp Manitou is very difficult. We are working on leads, but nothing is confirmed yet.
We have delayed starting past when other LARPs have already begun playing mostly in order to ensure that we follow the Ontario Government guidelines and also to ensure the safety and comfort of our players, but at this point we must work to reopen for live events, and the biggest part of that is ensuring we have a place to play.

Why buy land? Can’t we just rent?
For longer than just this past year, we have been working in the background on ways to buy our own land to use. This is really the next step for our game for exactly the situation we now find ourselves in, the loss of our rented site. Owning our own place ensures that we will never have to worry about not being able to provide a place for the game, but also greatly enhances our abilities to provide amenities such as cabins, storage and permanent structures for game use. As we are also looking to offer a second LARP (Dormancy) and several one-off events in the near future, this has also significantly increased the cost benefit to owning our own land over renting multiple weekends per month.
All of this work has culminated into the unique position we are in now, on the edge of viability. All of our plans have come to the point now that we are incredibly close to being able to purchase land and begin that next phase of the game.
While renting other land is an option, it does leave us with that same insecurity we had with the Scout camp, at any moment the person or group owning that land can refuse to allow us to rent. This means that renting a different site will really only delay this problem, and should that problem arise again, we might not be able to find another place, or be in the position to buy the land then.

What land are you looking for?
We are looking for a site which is as comparable to Camp Manitou as possible. This means having large enough buildings for a tavern or character gathering area, one for Cast to gather and prep and enough land and other buildings to have the in-game places continue to exist in the new location. A large enough space to play in that has both open and forested areas, and we are trying our best to find such a place as close as possible geographically to Camp Manitou.

Why are you selling the items you have listed? Why not just take donations?
There are very strict legal regulations on what businesses can and cannot do involving accepting money from people, and a big one of these is that businesses cannot accept money for nothing. So to ensure no legal issues, we have decided to offer things that we can do for our players.
The specific items we have selected were done so carefully and for these reasons:
- They are items we can actually provide, and do so with confidence in the quality of the product.
- They are items which will not be detrimental to the game or detract from the player’s experience whether they purchase the item or not.
- They are items that have been approved by the positions that will be involved with the item. The EAO Directors, Plot Manager and Head of Lore were all fully consulted on the items concerning their positions and gave their full approval to be included.

What about
? Can that be included in the options?
We were planning to add and remove items from the fundraiser while it is ongoing. What was initially released was just the first batch, but more items will be added as they are developed and confirmed to fit our requirements. If you have a suggestion for an item to add to the list, please email a Director with your thoughts at: Owners@fantasyalivelrp.com.

Some items have quantity limits, why is that?
In order to ensure the fundraiser does not provide options for too much character advancement, or burden the game with excessive demands on time or resources, we have put in place limits on the quantity offered for many of the items. These limits are generally hard caps and will only be changed after careful consideration by the Directors and any other position that is affected by the item.
Some of the items are really expensive. Any options for paying for those?
Some items on the list are put at prices above their actual value. This is because this is a fundraiser and so we need to earn more money from the items than the base cost, materials, time and effort would normally have earned us.
As for payment options, we have set up the fundraiser to allow for players to pay whatever amount they wish at a time, and build up to any of the items listed on the fundraiser. We will ensure that all money paid into the fundraiser is kept track of on the player’s character sheet and whenever the player decides to cash in for an item, we will provide them with that item and remove the payment from the balance on the sheet.
Items which require approval from a Director and/or another official opinion must have that permission given before the player may begin putting money away toward this item. Once that approval is given and the first payment is received, the item will be assigned to that player and a remaining number will be lessened. Should any issues arise with the payments or items, a Director will contact the player to resolve the issue.

What happens with excess fundraiser payments?
Any funds on the player’s sheet at the end of the fundraiser will be either:
- allowed to continue to make payments to reach the item goal they wish, or
- Will be paid out in OC equal to the amount of funds.
This choice will be up to the player.

What will the fundraiser money be spent on?
All money earned from this fundraiser will be spent on the down payment for the land first. Any additional money earned (if any) will then be assigned to improvements to the land that will directly benefit the experience for players of games run on it.

Could you explain
?
We understand that a few of the items on the list do not provide enough information, so we have included more information here to clarify them.

Personalized FA&D Session (Single or 3 part)
This item grants the player one or three sessions of FA&D games designed around the player’s request. These sessions will be scheduled and run by an EAO Director, unless an FA&D Plot Team member specifically requests to volunteer to take on the session.
The request for the sessions must be approved by a Director and no money will be accepted until the starting details are fully agreed upon by the player, the Director and any FA&D Plot Team member who has volunteered to help.
As with all FA&D sessions, these personalized session(s) must be actions which do not actively change the story of Fantasy Alive without express approval and guidance from the Plot Manager of Fantasy Alive. Items gained within FA&D sessions are strictly limited, but special requests as part of this may be considered but only granted if approved by a Director and the Plot Manager of Fantasy Alive.
These sessions are intended to allow a player to choose a story they wish to play and bring along up to 5 friends to enjoy it as well.

Private Day Mod
This item grants a player and their choice of other friends to participate in a private single-day event held outside of the regular event schedule. The plot of the Day Mod can be requested by the player, or left to the discretion of the Directors and Plot Manager. Requests given may be for a specific plot-line (“I want to raid an undead fortress.”), or a vague idea they would enjoy playing out (“I want to do something illegal!”). The Directors, in consultation with the Plot Manager, then will plan the story of the Day Mod and find the right moment to provide it to the player.
The request for the Day Mod must be approved by a Director and the Plot Manager and no money will be accepted until the decision on the request is fully agreed upon by the player, the Director and the Plot Manager.
A Private Day Mod will involve a single day event starting at a set time (generally mid morning to early afternoon) and running until a set time (generally 9-11pm). This event will provide half of the standard event Blanket XP as well as Marshal XP, but no other XP. Players do not log and will use their last event character sheet (provided at the Day Mod by a Director). The only characters playing are those specifically invited to join by the purchaser. These Day Mods will be run by the Directors and any Plot Team member or Cast who specifically volunteer to do so. The exact date and time of the Day Mod will be determined by the player and a Director and must never interfere with any regularly scheduled events. Private Day Mods may include in-game tags, coin or other rewards, but these are entirely at the discretion of the Directors and Plot Manager.
This item is intended to grant a player and all other players that join in on the mod, an interesting story to enhance their enjoyment of the game.

Special YouTube video
Fantasy Alive has a YouTube channel!

This item grants the ability to request a specific topic for a special YouTube video. This video will be put together by the Directors of EAO and will be published on the YouTube channel upon completion.
The request for the special video must be approved by a Director and any official position that is directly responsible for something included within the request. No money will be accepted until the decision on the request is fully agreed upon by the player, the Director and any official position included in the discussion.
The video will be produced by the Directors or any other agent who has specifically volunteered to assist with any aspect of the video. The video will be completed as soon as possible, but with the understanding that the time-frame for production can be incredibly varied based on the request. Part of the discussion time with the player requesting this item will be estimating a deadline.
This item is intended to allow a player to request a video option for an explanation of some aspect of the game system, or to provide something fun or light-hearted for the players of the game to enjoy.

Cabin
This item is a cabin that will be available to the player (and any other players they designate) to use whenever they attend an EAO event on the site the cabin is located. It is possible that some cabins could be spacious enough to fit multiple players, though the purchasing player maintains control and responsibility for its use. Some stipulations for the use and duration of access are listed on the cabin item page

The exact construction details of the cabin are to be determined by a Director and the player selecting this item. EAO will only provide a cabin to a player if it is built safely and with reasonable quality construction, though the specifics of the design, materials and location must be discussed and settled with a Director before any money is provided or any cabin can be built, renovated or provided to the player.
Please contact the Directors at Owners@fantasyalivelrp.com to discuss this option if you are interested.

How long will this fundraiser be going on?
This fundraiser will be in place until we have the means to purchase the land we are looking for. We do believe we are quite close to being able to, so this fundraiser should only be available for a short time. There is absolutely no intention to maintain the fundraiser after this point or to offer other ongoing fundraisers regularly in the future. This is intended strictly as a one-time measure in order to achieve the immediate goals of purchasing land on which to continue events.
We will be sure to provide ample warning for when we will be ending the fundraiser and will ensure to contact and discuss the options for any funds remaining on character sheets at that time.

How will this fundraiser affect the Plot, treasure given out, log or any other aspect of EAO games?
The items possible in this fundraiser will in no way alter any aspect of the way Fantasy Alive or any EAO game will be run. These items are designed to provide small bonuses or interesting aspects to the game for some or all players, but they will not take precedence or change the way we do Plot, Log or anything else. These items are also built in such a way as to not provide significant power changes to characters beyond what any player could receive for helping out the game with their time or talents.
Items which require merging into FA&D, live Fantasy Alive games or any other aspect are limited and will be managed to allow them to be played out within the game as seamlessly as possible. Any additional work required for the items will be provided by the Directors of EAO or another who is both qualified and has willingly volunteered to provide the assistance. In no way will any Plot member, Cast or any other official position be required to assist with an item off of this fundraiser.
